Even though it hasn't officially been announced that Jamie Foxx is playing the villain Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the way the actor is talking seems to indicate that very fact. ET recently had a chance to speak with Foxx to try and confirm his casting. Foxx didn't come right out and say that he was playing the villain who is actually one of the Sinister Six (which also includes Doctor Octopus, Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio, Sandman and Vulture), but he said, "Electro is a great character. I met with the director, Mark Webb, I met with Andrew Garfield, and we talked." What else was talked about?

Foxx went on to dive a little into the character himself:
"I think Electro will be an exciting character to play because he's a ... genius electrician-type person, and he gets the short end of the stick from the whole world, and the next thing you know he turns it on."
Director Marc Webb seems to be on a spree of new information lately. Just yesterday he announced via Twitter that Chronicle star Dane DeHaan would play Harry Osborn, son of Oscorp's Norman Osborn who becomes Green Goblin. And while promoting The Amazing Spider-Man Blu-Ray release last month, he talked about some of his favorite villains, "I like Green Goblin. I like Electro a lot. I think Electro is pretty fantastic." Sounds like Electro is definitely going to be in this sequel, and maybe we'll get a set up for Green Goblin in the third movie? I guess we'll have to wait and see.
