He's back again! The mutant who can't die, Wolverine, back for more. Hugh Jackman recetly finished shooting The Wolverine, a stand-alone non-prequel or sequel directed by James Mangold, but word is he's now back as Wolverine once again in the new Bryan Singer movie. As of just a month ago, Bryan Singer was taking over directing Fox's new X-Men sequel - Days of Future Past. It was originally in the hands of Matthew Vaughn, but has since gone back to Singer, who has wrangled up the likes of Sir Ian McKellan, Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy to return, too. Now with Wolverine, they've got just about everyone.
There is no surprise in this news: THR is reporting that Jackman is now in talks to reprise his long-running role as Wolverine in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past. He will be joining both Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen, who Singer recently revealed will also be coming back for more X-Men fun. As for the stars of First Class, the only confirmed returning stars are McAvoy, Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult. The performance will also extend Jackman's record for having played a single live-action superhero character the most times on screen with six (X-Men, X2, X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men: First Class, The Wolverine).
20th Century Fox currently has X-Men: Days of Future Past, being directed by Bryan Singer (of X-Men, X2, Superman Returns), set for initial release on July 18, 2014 a few summers away. Getting excited already?
