The football field for Super Bowl XLVII wasn't the only shade of green seen for the big game today as Disney decided to unveil a new spot for a return to the Emerald City in Oz: The Great and Powerful. The studio is still playing the mystery game by saving the reveal of the real Wicked Witch of the West until the film hits theaters this March. All you need to know for now is that there's three witches played by Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz, and one of the latter two ladies will be getting mean and green. Honestly, I'm still not sold on Franco as the wizard, but maybe he'll change my mind. Watch below!
Here's the Super Bowl TV spot for Sam Raimi's Oz: The Great and Powerful, debuted via YouTube:
When small-time magician Oscar Diggs (Franco) pulls one flimflam too many, he finds himself hurled into the fantastical Land of Oz where he must somehow transform himself into the great and powerful Wizard—and just maybe into a better man as well. Also features the three witches Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams). Disney's fantastical adventure Oz The Great and Powerful, directed by Sam Raimi (Evil Dead, Dark Man, Spider-Man, Drag Me to Hell), imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum's beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. From a screenplay by Mitchell Kapner and David Lindsay-Abaire. Disney will be taking us back to Oz on March 8th in just over a month. Thoughts?
