"We are the greatest lawmen that ever lived and died." It's Men in Black meets Ghostbusters with a little bit of Jeff Bridges thrown in for good measure. While the long wait for a trailer for R.I.P.D. had us worried, this actually looks pretty damn fun. The special effects look solid, the monstrous dead that Ryan Reynolds must pursue look really cool, and the chemistry between our two heroes seems pretty great. There's no sign of the plot where Reynolds is looking for the man responsible for his death, but that will likely come later. In the meantime, we're certainly interested to see how this flick turns out. Watch!
Here's the first trailer for Robert Schwentke's R.I.P.D., originally from Machinima:
Robert Schwentke directs R.I.P.D., written by Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay and based on Peter M. Lenkov's graphic novel of the same name. Kevin Bacon and Mary-Louise Parker also star in the Universal Pictures film arriving on July 19th.
