"Don't do anything I wouldn't do." IFC Films has put out yet another trailer (I've seen so many already!) for Walter Salles' On the Road, adapting Jack Kerouac's book about his own cross-country, road-trippin' experiences during the 1940's. The film actually focuses on Sam Riley playing Sal Paradise, who goes on an adventure with his wild friend Dean Moriarty, played by Garrett Hedlund. This seems more obviously timed with the final Twilight film hitting theaters soon since Kristen Stewart is also in it, but I don't think this is really for that crowd. It is a beautifully-shot film, and may be a poignant journey for some, but not all.
Here's the second official US trailer for Walter Salles' On the Road, in high def from Apple:
On the Road, directed by Walter Salles (The Motorcycle Diaries, Dark Water), written by Jose Rivera based on Jack Kerouac's book, tells the story of Sal Paradise (Sam Riley), who sets off on a cross country journey expressing the restless energy and desire for freedom that makes people rush out to see the world. Garrett Hedlund plays Sal's friend Dean, who inspires him to see America, while Kristen Stewart plays his on-again-off-again wife Marylou. Viggo Mortensen, Amy Adams, Kirsten Dunst, Elisabeth Moss, Alice Braga and more also star in the film.
